Projects

Design Process

The initial idea is developed into the Design Brief which will serve as the foundation of the design. The design team’s job isto guide the concept through the process of development, review, and refinement until said product is deemed to be ready for production. Research, 2D sketches, 3D models, visualisations, and prototypes are all tools used by the design team to keep the project focused and ensure the intended design is conveyed to the engineering team.

United Kingdom

Valmont Stainton was established in 1978 and throughout this time has been designing, manufacturing and supplying columns and masts to the UK construction industry. Valmont Stainton, commenced with the manufacture of octagonal lighting columns, the first to introduce galvanised street lighting products to the UK, many of these columns are still gracing the motorways today. From our humble origins as the UK subsidiary of Petitjean SAS (a French pole manufacturer), following a successful MBO and subsequent acquisition by Valmont Industries, typically we are the leaders of new product designs in the UK, whether it be the most comprehensive range of raising and lowering poles, cutting edge 5G telecom masts, stainless steel poles, or utility poles. As a result of this drive and initiative we are pleased to be the first UK lighting pole manufacturer to design, manufacture and test a Passively Safe lighting column specifically for the UK Lighting column market. This latest product innovation features a range of 100HE:2 10m and 12m columns, these are manufactured from galvanised steel and can be painted to fit seamlessly (ideally) in with existing installations.

Poland

Valmont Polska Sp. was established in July, 1994 as a joint venture between Valmont Industries, Inc., (NYSE: VMI) and Mostostal Siedlce, S.A. In 1997, the operation expanded with the construction of a modern steel lighting mast manufacturing and galvanizing facility in Siedlce. In 1998, Valmont Poland experienced a sizable increase in production growth and the following year a second-shift was added to meet the growing domestic and international demand. In subsequent years, the company expanded into new markets and gradually increased the employment level to exceed 100 workers while adding modern equipment to the factory floor. The years from 2000-2006 were a time of increased growth and development for the company. In recent years, Valmont Poland implemented lean production initiatives to increase productivity and minimize lead times. Further, the Valmont team focused on continually improving the customer experience by expanding the product offering while carefully listening to the voice of the customer. Today, Valmont Polska serves with excellence all of Poland and many Eastern European markets by offering customers the global technical and manufacturing resources of Valmont Industries combined with the local expertise of employees and representatives across the region.

Netherlands

Located in Maarheeze, Noord-Brabant, Netherlands specialized in Galvanised and powdercoated steel products. Established 1953 – former Nolte. Production of poles and constructions for Public lighting, Traffic constructions and Tramway. Nowadays more and more customized products including installation and project management. Annual production of 50.000 - 60.000 poles and 70.000 accessories servicing Benelux and DACH.

France

Located less than 2 hours from Lyon, France, Sermeto group joined the Valmont family in 1989 bringing its leading position in the making of Decorative street furniture. Today, Valmont France employs 320 spread over 2 production sites: Charmeil, the headquarters for steel products and coating and Rive de Gier, dedicated for aluminium production and liquid painting. Valmont France produces more than 120,000 masts per year and a knowhow of the “French touch”. It’s also a state of mind that is found in the DNA of the company that can be summed up in a few words "Satisfying and respecting our customers”.
